Today we are talking all things bar carts! We love bar carts because of their versatility. They are so beautiful when styled correctly, but can also be extremely functional as well. They can be styled for events, holidays, seasons, or just plain fun! Before styling any area of our homes, the first thing we like to do is begin with a clean slate. So for our bar carts, this entails removing all current pieces and cleaning the cart thoroughly. Now we have a blank canvas to work with and can let our creativity flow! The next thing we do is decide what the theme of the cart will be and begin gathering elements (we will discuss the essential elements in a bit) that will fit that theme. We prefer to gather items from around the house, but it’s always nice to go purchase a new piece or two every once in a while to freshen things up. Finally, we can begin bar cart styling!

Elements of Bar Car Styling

When styling our bar carts, there are a few essentials we cannot live without. The first may seem obvious, as it is choosing the beverage. Choosing whether to display wine, champagne, liquor, sparking water, etc. is entirely up to you,. Typically, ours is stocked with wine and sparkling beverages, but sometimes we like to mix and match depending on the occasion. The trick is to choose bottles in different sizes and shapes. The next must have item on our cart is pretty or unique glassware. Displaying your beautiful champagne flutes, wine glasses, or decanters can give your bar cart an elegant look. Next is a tray or two. We love adding trays to our carts not only as a style element, but you can also easily remove them and use them for serving when you have company over. Another item we like to add is some form of artwork, chalkboard, or letterboard. This element allows you to add your unique style and creativity. Have fun with this one, playing with colors and sayings. The last component to bar cart styling is adding some décor. Choose items that will flow with your theme and add to your personal style, such as paper straws, napkins, books, boxes, corks, plants/flowers, and candles.
